Paint and sip class where guests paint a black cat under blacklight, with an optional DIY soy candle add-on.
Pinot's Palette is hosting a Blacklight Black Cat paint and sip class on Sunday, October 25, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The premise is simple: you paint a black cat, but you do it under blacklight, which turns the studio into a neon-lit room and lets you see the world through a black cat's eyes while you work. The class is pitched as easy enough for first-time painters and rewarding for experienced artists, with upbeat music and a social atmosphere to keep things light.
There's an optional DIY candle add-on you can tack on. If you do, you'll pour your own all-natural soy candle before the painting begins, so it cures while you work. By the time you're finished, you walk out with both your artwork and a custom hand-poured candle. It's a nice way to double up on the afternoon.
The studio is located in the heart of Columbus' Short North Arts District at 691 North High Street, Suite 101, on N High between Russell and Buttles. Street parking is available, and the Joseph, Hub, and E Goodale garages are all a few minutes' walk away. Every Pinot's Palette is owned and operated by local small business owners, and the studio also hosts private paint parties and mobile painting sessions at a guest's venue if you're looking for something beyond the public classes.
