Free in-person monthly program with a talk by John Mittermeier on the search for lost bird species, a Conservation Spotlight, a bird quiz and a raffle.
John Mittermeier is coming to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center on Tuesday, November 17, for a talk on the search for lost bird species. He's the Director of The Search for Lost Birds, a program run by the American Bird Conservancy, and that's exactly what he'll be talking about: the effort to find bird species that haven't been seen in years.
It's part of the Columbus Audubon 2026-2027 Monthly Program, a free in-person series they're hosting at the center. The format is the same for each one: a main conservation talk paired with a Conservation Spotlight. This time around, the spotlight is on Luz Mercado, so you'll get two different looks at conservation work in one night.
The evening starts with refreshments, a bird quiz, and a door prize raffle before the speakers take the floor. Once the talks are over, the night wraps up with the announcement of the raffle winners. If you can't make it in person, there's a virtual option via Google Meet, though you'll need to register for that one.
