Live show by Mustard Plug with City Sidestep at Rumba Cafe for the Used Kids Records Happy Hour.
Mustard Plug are playing Rumba Cafe on Sunday, November 22, as part of the Used Kids Records Happy Hour concert series. They're bringing City Sidestep along to open the night, so you'll get two bands on one bill.
If you're not familiar, Mustard Plug is one of the biggest names in ska, and they've been at it for decades. They're known for that fast, brass-heavy sound that's a staple of the genre, and they've built a long career around it. City Sidestep is on the bill as well, so the whole evening stays in that same orbit. Between the two, you've got a full lineup of horn-driven music from start to finish.
It's a Sunday afternoon show, which is a bit different from the usual late-night club run. The concert kicks off at 5 PM, and doors open half an hour before that, at 4:30 PM. It's presented as a Used Kids Records Happy Hour concert, so it's more of a late-afternoon thing than a midnight one. If you're used to catching shows on a Friday or Saturday night, this one lets you get in and out while it's still light out.
