Holiday Movie Beer Tastings: A Christmas Story Beer Tasting

Studio 35 is bringing back its holiday movie beer tastings, and the first one on the calendar is A Christmas Story, hosted by Andy Wuelfing on Friday, December 4. It's part of the theater's 'Movies. Beer. Pizza. Good Times.' series, so the format is pretty straightforward: you spend the first half of the afternoon tasting through a flight of beers, and then you settle in for the movie. The tasting starts at 1 PM sharp, and the film follows around 3 PM, which means you've got a couple of hours to work your way through the beer before the opening credits roll.

For $50, you get ten Christmas beers, a custom pint glass to take home, and a chance at raffle prizes. The movie is A Christmas Story, the 1940s comedy about Ralph, a young boy who spends the season trying to convince his parents, his teachers, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun is the only Christmas gift that matters. It stars Melinda Dillon, Darren McGavin, and Peter Billingsley, and it's one of those holiday staples that works just as well on a big screen as it does on a living room TV.

Since the tasting comes first, you'll be sipping through the flight while the room fills up, and by the time the movie starts, you're already settled in.
