A family-friendly Halloween tram ride through the Blendon Woods Nature Center, encouraging attendees to wear costumes.
Blendon Woods Nature Center is hosting a Halloween Tram Ride on Saturday, October 31, from 2:00 to 2:30 PM. It's a short, half-hour loop that starts and ends at the center, and you can come in a costume or just as yourself. The ride is free, so it's an easy way to get some Halloween spirit without spending anything.
The ride is run by the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, which operate more than 20 locations across the region. They offer free programs year-round, including 75 miles of paved bike trails and 230 miles of natural-surface trails for walking and riding. They also run four nature centers—Blacklick Woods, Highbanks, Battelle Darby Creek, and Blendon Woods—so if you enjoy getting outdoors, you've probably crossed paths with their work before.
Beyond the trails, the parks run the Metro Parks Outdoor Adventure program, which teaches hands-on outdoor skills like kayaking, SUP, archery, yoga, and via ferrata. They also host free outdoor movies under the stars every summer and fall, so this tram ride fits right into the mix of things they do throughout the year.
