Halloween and Fall Shadowboxes at Land-Grant Extension

CheckART Mobile Art Studio is hosting a shadowbox workshop at Land-Grant Brewing Co. - Extension on Thursday, October 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The theme is Halloween and fall, so you'll be putting together a small, layered scene inspired by the season. If you've never made a shadowbox before, it's basically a deep frame that lets you build a little 3D world inside—and the best part is that all the supplies and the lights are included, so you don't have to bring a thing.

CheckART describes it as a fun crafting session to share with a friend, a date, or a child, and it's an all-ages event, though kids need to be accompanied by an adult. Since it's a two-hour window, it works as a standalone evening out or as a way to get a head start on your October decor. You'll leave with your own finished piece and the lights to make it glow.

Logistics are straightforward: the workshop runs from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 5:20 PM, so you've got a few minutes to settle in before things get started. It's held at Land-Grant Brewing Co. - Extension, 98 McDowell St. in Columbus, and parking is paid. Tickets are $34 for a single spot, or $55 if you bring a second person along.
