Free monthly drop-in family night for bereaved families with children aged six and over to connect with peers.
Growing through Grief is a monthly family night run by Cornerstone of Hope, and it's open to families with children aged six and over. It's a free drop-in group, though you do need to register before you come. The idea is simple: a safe, compassionate space where families can connect with other people who understand what they're going through.
Cornerstone of Hope is a nonprofit bereavement support center that's been serving Ohio since 2003. They do a lot more than just this one night, too. Their full range of services includes individual counseling, support groups, seminars, holiday events, and yoga. They also provide resources for schools, businesses, and professionals who work with people who have lost someone. And through their Compassionate Care Program, no one is turned away because they can't pay.
The family night itself is designed for families with children six and up, and it's free to attend. It's a drop-in group, so you can come and go as it fits your schedule, but registration is required. The focus is on connecting with other families who get it, in a space where you don't have to explain your experience.
