Clever Bee Academy Trunk or Treat

Clever Bee Academy is hosting a free community trunk-or-treat on Saturday, October 31, from 1 PM to 3 PM at 1977 Cleveland Ave in Columbus. If you're not familiar with the format, trunk-or-treating is a family-friendly alternative to the usual Halloween night routine. Instead of walking from house to house, the event takes place during the day in a single location—in this case, the academy's parking area—where cars are parked with their trunks open and decorated with themes and displays. The kids move from trunk to trunk to collect candy, so there's very little walking between stops.

Clever Bee Academy describes the afternoon as an in-person session of decorating trunks, grabbing candy, and spooky fun. Because it's a community event, it's open to children and their parents, and since it's held in the afternoon, it works well if you've got little ones who can't stay up late or if you'd rather get the candy haul out of the way before the sun goes down. The whole thing is free, so you can just show up and let the kids do their thing.

It's a straightforward way to do Halloween without the dark streets and long walks, and since it's held at the academy, it's a local spot right here in the city. The event runs from 1 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, October 31, at 1977 Cleveland Ave, 43211.
