Boboween Night 2

Boboween Night 2 is happening at Cafe Bourbon Street in Columbus on Saturday, October 24, with a full bill of six acts. It's the second installment of the Boboween Halloween show, and the lineup runs from the high-energy proto-punk of MC5 through to the slow-burn indie of Silver Jews.

MC5 and Rocket From the Tombs hold down the heavier end of the bill. MC5 brings the loud, raw energy they're known for, and Rocket From the Tombs follows with that same kind of high-volume, guitar-driven sound. Between them, you've got V3 and Coachwhips, both of whom lean into the noisier, more experimental side of things. Krautrock Danzig adds its own take on the motorik rhythms that give the genre its name, and Silver Jews round out the night with the loose, lyric-forward indie rock that's their hallmark. It's a wide spread, so you'll hear everything from distorted garage rock to more stripped-back, song-oriented sets.

With six bands on one bill, the night is built around a succession of sets rather than a single headliner. You'll get the loud, distorted side of things from MC5 and Rocket From the Tombs, the noise and experimentation of V3 and Coachwhips, the rhythmic drive of Krautrock Danzig, and the more melodic, lyric-driven approach of Silver Jews. It's a lot of ground to cover in one evening, and the variety is the point.
