Drop-in session with CPAs from Wells CPA, LLC to answer questions about nonprofit administration, compliance, fund accounting and Form 990.
Wells CPA, LLC is holding an "Ask an Expert" session on nonprofit administration, compliance, and fundraising at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Library on Wednesday, November 18, from 9 AM to 11 AM. It's a drop-in format, so you don't need to register—just show up when you can and stay as long as you need.
Wells CPA is an accounting and auditing firm that focuses on nonprofits, and they're the ones staffing the session. The whole point is to get your specific questions answered by people who do this for a living. If you're running a nonprofit and have a list of things you've been meaning to figure out, this is a good time to clear them off your plate.
The range of what they'll cover is pretty broad. On the day-to-day side, they can help with using QuickBooks, creating budgets, and understanding financial statements and fund accounting. If you're looking at the bigger picture, they're on hand for filing Form 990, preparing for audits, and maintaining compliance with federal grants. They also cover implementing financial controls and the financial responsibilities of board members—the kind of structural stuff that's easy to put off until it becomes a problem.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Columbus and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

This isn't a one-off, either. It's part of a series held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9 to 11 AM at the library's Business and Nonprofit Resource Center, so if you can't make this one, there's another coming soon. The session is at the Main Library, 96 South Grant Avenue in Columbus, and it's open to anyone managing a nonprofit.
