Career session with Ohio Means Jobs to enrol in the WIOA programme and access job matching, resume workshops and training.
Ohio Means Jobs is holding a session at the Main Library on Wednesday, October 28, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's a drop-in setup in Study Room 3, so you can swing by whenever you have a window that morning or early afternoon. A Community Outreach Specialist will be there to help you enroll in the WIOA program, which opens up a whole range of career services: career exploration, job matching, resume workshops, interview practice, training programs, and digital skills. It's aimed at adults, and the goal is to get you connected to the resources that actually move the needle on a job search.
If you're planning to go, there are two things you'll need to bring. First, a resume or a written work history—even if it's not fully polished, it gives the specialist something to work with. Second, two forms of ID, like a driver's license, state ID, birth certificate, passport, or Social Security card. Having those ready means you can get the enrollment part out of the way and spend your time talking about the actual support you're looking for.
It's also worth knowing that the library's Job Help Center has its own set of free career tools running alongside this. They offer job-search assistance, resume writing, interview skills, and technology training. There's also JobNow, which gives you free live coaching and a resume review within 24 hours, plus access to OhioMeansJobs' Big Interview video tutorials and virtual interview practice. Between the session and the center, there's a fair amount of support in one building.
