Conference on avian research with keynote speaker Dr. Olivia Smith, featuring scientific presentations and networking at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center.
The 2026 Ohio Avian Research Conference is coming to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center on Saturday, November 14, for a full day of bird research. It's a gathering of scientists and enthusiasts focused on avian study, with Dr. Olivia Smith as the keynote speaker. The day is built around scientific presentations and networking, so you'll hear from researchers sharing their work and have time to talk shop with the people behind the studies.
The venue itself is part of the story. The Grange Insurance Audubon Center is one of 32 conservation action centers in the National Audubon Society's network, and it's the first one in the country built so close to the heart of a major city. It sits inside Scioto Audubon Metro Park, which grew out of a major urban reclamation and redevelopment project meant to bring environmental awareness and stewardship to the city through education and public programming. The 18,000-square-foot facility is a living example of sustainable design, built with recycled construction materials.
