A three-day new music festival held across multiple venues in central Cardiff, featuring Welsh and international artists.
Sŵn Festival returns to Cardiff from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 October 2026, three days of new music spread across the city centre. It's billed as Wales' number one new-music festival, and the name comes from the Welsh word for sound or noise. It's been running since 2007, and Clwb Ifor Bach has been behind it since 2018.
Rather than one big arena or a field on the outskirts, Sŵn is rooted in Cardiff's independent music scene. The programme runs across separate venues and stages in the city centre, with a good chunk of it centred on Womanby Street. You'll find rooms like Clwb Ifor Bach and Spillers Records in Morgan Arcade among the spaces hosting the line-up, so you'll be moving between them over the course of the weekend rather than staying in one spot.

The line-up for this edition includes Cerys Hafana, ifan, Pys Melyn, WRKHOUSE, Casi, SHINOBii, Tokomololo, Chwaer Fawr, Asidhara and SHLUG. Because the festival is spread across different rooms, age restrictions and venue access vary from one to the next, so it's worth checking the details for each room before you head out. Cardiff Central is the best transport hub for getting into the city centre, and from there you're within easy walking distance of the venues.
