Wax Tailor brings his solo set and video show to the CULTVR Dome, part of the Cardiff Music City Festival.
Wax Tailor plays CULTVR on Saturday 17 October, as part of the Cardiff Music City Festival. He's bringing his solo set and video show to the CULTVR Dome, and it's his only UK date of 2026.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's worth knowing where he fits in. Wax Tailor is one of the pioneering figures of the French independent hip-hop and electronic scene. He spent a decade building his following as a DJ, producer, composer and manager before breaking through internationally with the 2004 EP Lost The Way and his landmark debut album Tales of the Forgotten Melodies (2005), which is now regarded as a classic of the genre. In the two decades since, he's released seven studio albums, a live album recorded at the Olympia in Paris, numerous EPs and more than 600 concerts across over 50 countries, playing for more than a million spectators worldwide.
That track record has picked up its fair share of recognition along the way: three 'Best Electronic Album' nominations at the French Victoires de la Musique, an Independent Music Award in the United States and the SACEM Grand Prize for Electronic Music. He's also worked with a wide range of artists, including Sharon Jones, Ghostface Killah, Tricky, Lee Fields, Aloe Blacc, Mark Lanegan and Del The Funky Homosapien. The video show he's bringing to the Dome means there's as much to watch as there is to hear.
