A daytime clubbing party featuring the greatest hits of the 20th century, created by Vicky McClure, Jonny Owen and Reverend & The Makers.
Day Fever comes to Tramshed on Saturday 12 December, starting at 15:00. It's a daytime clubbing party that launched in 2024, started by Vicky McClure, Jonny Owen and Reverend & The Makers, and has since worked its way across the UK. They describe it as "the day-time disco that doesn't ruin your Sunday", and the whole thing is built around the greatest hits of the 20th century. You'll hear Madonna, Madness, Pulp, Prince, The Stone Roses and The Rolling Stones, so the music policy pulls from a fair few decades and a good range of styles.
There's a few things that set it apart from your usual night out. It's a safe space with no dress code, so you can turn up exactly as you are. Co-creator Vicky McClure says that travelling the country and hearing people's stories made her realise how important it is to take some time out and have a good dance. That's the core of it: a daytime disco that lets you get your dancing in and still have your evening and your Sunday morning to yourself.
They do have a couple of house rules for the dancefloor, though. They ask that you keep the petting to the "smooch and slow" section, and they'd rather you leave the acrobatics and gymnastics at home. Vigorous dancing, however, is encouraged. It's a daytime clubbing party in the truest sense — the music starts in the afternoon, the dress code is whatever you fancy, and you're out long before the night really gets going.
