Screening of Muriel d'Ansembourg's feature debut, a tender story about teenage vulnerability, at the Cambridge Film Festival.
Truly Naked is showing at Arts Picturehouse as part of the 45th Cambridge Film Festival, with the first screening on Saturday 24 October at 8:15pm. It's the feature debut of Muriel d'Ansembourg, who'll be there in person for a Q&A after the film, so you'll get to hear from her about how it came together.
The story follows Alec, an introverted teenager who films pornography for his father's small-time business, until he meets his classmate Nina and discovers a gentler understanding of intimacy. It's a tender look at teenage vulnerability, and it was shot mainly in Devon. Caolán O'Gorman and Safiya Benaddi lead the cast.
It's been picking up awards across Europe: six Golden Calves at the Netherlands Film Festival, a Best Performance cast award and the Ecumenical Jury Award at the Transilvania International Film Festival, and an Audience Award for Best Feature at FEST in Espinho, Portugal. It was also shortlisted in the Fiction category at the European Film Awards and made the Perspectives Competition at the Berlin International Film Festival 2026.
