Stand-up show by Jason Byrne marking thirty years on stage, with audience interaction and improvisation.
Jason Byrne is at Cambridge Junction on Thursday 5 November, with 30 Years Byrning, a show that marks three decades on stage. It's a retrospective that pulls together the props, stunts and surreal tangents he's built up over the years and packs them into a single evening.
If you've seen him before, you'll know the style: high-energy, free-wheeling lunacy that takes the audience on a helter-skelter tour of his offbeat mind. It's held together by fearless audience interaction and improvisation, so it's the kind of set where the room plays as much of a part as the man on stage. He's performed all over the world and built a following that's made him a festival favourite for thirty years.
The critics have been kind, too. The Times called him 'the outright king of live comedy' and The Mirror described him as 'a comedy God'. He's quoted as saying the title he prizes most, though, comes from his Mammy, who named him the 'world's best stand-up'.
