Stuff & Nonsense brings puppetry and live music to a family version of the children's story 'The Enormous Turnip'.
Stuff & Nonsense bring The Enormous Turnip back to Cambridge Junction on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October, following sell-out runs the previous year. It's a re-potted version of the well-known children's story, told with live music, eccentric puppetry and a lot of energy. The show runs about 60 minutes and is recommended for seedlings aged 3-10 and all the family.
It's a tale of teamwork and determination, and the puppetry is a big part of it. The Stage described it as a show where 'puppetry, live music and good old-fashioned charm sprout up left, right and centre'. After the performance, the audience is invited to meet the characters and the puppets, so the little ones can get a closer look at how it all works.
Stuff & Nonsense are a children's theatre company whose work has been called 'outstanding children's theatre' by reviewers. Chris Chibnall, of Broadchurch and Doctor Who, put it simply: 'Stuff and Nonsense make the world a better place.' The Enormous Turnip was originally created with support from Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for The Arts, in association with Salisbury Playhouse and The Merlin Theatre, and with support from The Point and The Berry Theatre.
