Award-winning family-friendly sketch comedy show written and performed by the comedy duo Shelf, recommended for ages 6 and over.
Shelf bring their family sketch show to Cambridge Junction on Sunday 1 November, with the performance starting at 2:00 PM in J2. It's a matinee, so it works well if you're taking the kids out for the afternoon. The show runs about 60 minutes with no interval, and it's recommended for ages 6 and over, with age guidance of 5–11.
Shelf is the comedy duo behind the show, written and performed by Rachel and Ruby, who are also the creators of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball. It's a sketch show, so you'll get a series of short, fast-paced bits rather than one long story. It's built for families, and the two of them are on stage together throughout.
The show has a bit of a track record behind it. It won Best Kids' Show at the 2023 Leicester Comedy Festival / UK Kids' Comedy Festival, and it was nominated in the same category again at the 2026 edition. It's picked up four-star reviews from The Guardian, The Scotsman, Skinny, Funny Women and Beyond The Joke, with The Guardian calling it 'sketch comedy for kids ... [they] pull it off with brio'.

Tickets are £15.50 for adults and £11 for children, and seating in J2 is unreserved, so you'll just take whatever's free when you arrive. It's a Sunday afternoon slot, and the whole thing wraps up in an hour, which keeps it manageable for the younger ones.
