Festive concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by James Morgan with soloist Juliette Pochin, with carols and Christmas classics.
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra are playing a Christmas concert at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Sunday 6 December, with the first note sounding at 16:00. It's a matinee, so it works as a family outing without running late into the evening.
James Morgan conducts, and soloist Juliette Pochin joins in. The set is built around the audience singing along, so you're not just sitting and listening — you'll be expected to join in. The music runs from traditional carols to more modern Christmas classics, with The Snowman and Home Alone both on the list. It's a mix of the old and the new, so it should suit a few different generations in the same room.
There's a bit of a lighthearted side to it too. The venue has a Joke Box where you can post your best (or worst) Christmas jokes, and one lucky audience member gets invited up onto the podium to conduct the orchestra. It's a fair bit of fun to have running alongside the music.

Tickets are £33 to £60, which includes the booking fee. There's a family discount of £5 per ticket for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children. One practical thing to keep in mind: latecomers may not be admitted, so it's worth getting there a bit early. The concert starts at 16:00 at the Cambridge Corn Exchange, 2 Wheeler Street, CB2 3QB.
