Free community mapping taster sessions for primary-aged children to try Community Mapping with a parent or guardian during half term.
Public Map East Anglia are running free mapping activities for primary-aged children at The Cambridge Room in the Grafton Centre during the October half-term. They're open Tuesday to Friday, so you can drop in any time between 10am and 5pm on any of those days. The room is inside the Grafton, opposite Decathlon, which makes it easy to work around a shopping trip.
The sessions are a taster for community mapping: children are invited to try it out and contribute to the organisation's digital public maps. It's aimed at under-14s attending with a parent or legal guardian, and anyone who takes part can sign up for the PMEA Young Mappers Club, where children learn to become digital mappers alongside a parent or carer. If your kid is into maps, it's a chance to see how they're actually made rather than just using them.

There's no need to book and no tickets to worry about—you just turn up when it suits you. It's free, too, so it's an easy one to fit in if you're looking for something to do with the kids while school's out. Just keep in mind that parking at the Grafton Centre is paid, so factor that in if you're driving in. The Cambridge Room is open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, throughout the half-term.
