Political stand-up Nish Kumar brings his tour 'Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy' to the Cambridge Corn Exchange.
Nish Kumar is at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Saturday 17 October, bringing his new tour Angry Humour From a Really Nice Guy to the city. He's one of the UK's most recognisable political comics, and this is a proper stand-up show rather than a panel appearance.
If you've come across him through the TV, you'll know the range. He's a co-host of the Pod Save the UK podcast, the former host of the BBC's The Mash Report, and one of Taskmaster's most famous losers. He's also a regular on the political circuit, and both The Guardian and The Telegraph named him one of the 50 best comedians of the 21st century. His last tour played to sold-out crowds across the UK, North America, Australasia and mainland Europe, so this is a big-room set.
The new show finds him entering his 40s, and he builds it around that particular milestone, drawing on existential angst and political disquiet. It's the same political edge he's known for, but filtered through a mid-life lens. The critics have been generous: The Guardian called him 'the pre-eminent comic political polemicist of our time', The Times described him as 'roaringly funny', and the New York Times said he carries the spirit of Bill Hicks.
