Strictly 18+ stand-up show by Morgan Rees about love, an autism diagnosis and being a Welsh valley boy in a Gujarati family.
Morgan Rees brings his new show, What a Bummer, to Cambridge Junction on Saturday 24 October. It's a brand-new hour that follows a sold-out tour in 2024, so he's returning with a fresh set rather than the old material.
The show centres on the trials and errors of falling in love and keeping the spark alive, and it takes him into the spiral-inducing limbo of awaiting an autism diagnosis. There's also the experience of being a white Welsh valley boy integrating into a proud Gujarati family. From there, the stories branch out into the more chaotic: being banned from Great Western trains, being fired as a Naked Butler, and ghosting Paul McCartney. He also tells of a revelation that arrived after he and his partner went on separate holidays β one to a Mathematics Forum in Coventry, the other to a Bear Party in Barcelona.
Rees is a BBC New Comedy Awards finalist who has supported Joanne McNally, Rhys James and Jayde Adams on tour. Outside of the stage, he hosts the podcasts My Bad and Chatting With Cherubs alongside Josh Jones and GearΓ³id Farrelly. Critics have called him a fine storyteller with tremendous heart and warmth, and 'fantastically funny'.
