West End science show with live experiments, fire tornadoes and a hovercraft for curious young minds and their grown-ups.
Ministry of Science comes to the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Tuesday 27 October, arriving direct from London's West End. They're billed as the UK's favourite science team, and the show is built around live experiments rather than a lecture. The whole thing takes an anarchic approach to science communication, celebrating the scientists, engineers and inventors who shaped the modern world by bringing their work to life theatrically on stage.
That stage gets filled with a fair few things. There are 20ft liquid nitrogen clouds, exploding oxygen and hydrogen balloons, fire tornadoes, and hydrogen bottle rockets. They also ignite methane and bring out a self-built hovercraft. It's the kind of show where the science is something you watch happen in front of you, rather than just hearing about it.
They describe the show as 100% educational, 200% entertaining, 300% explosive and 400% fun, and it's aimed squarely at curious young minds and their grown-ups. It's a family science show, so it works as a trip for kids and parents together.
