Free storytelling and sensory craft session for families with children aged 1 to 5 at the Museum of Cambridge.
Little Feet, Big Impressions is back at the Museum of Cambridge on Wednesday 3 February, part of the museum's free storytelling and sensory craft programme for families with children aged 1 to 5. It's a morning session that runs from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, so it fits into the mid-morning gap when the little ones are most up for something.
The session starts in the Enid Porter Room, the museum's purpose-built event space, where families are welcomed with complimentary tea and coffee. Once everyone's settled, you head into the museum's 16th-century building to explore the objects on display, with storytelling to guide the way. After that, you head back to the Enid Porter Room for a sensory activity linked to the story you've just heard.
For a bit of context, the Museum of Cambridge is the independent social history museum of the City and County of Cambridgeshire, housed in the 17th-century White Horse Inn and run as a registered charity. It celebrated its 90th anniversary in November 2026 and sits right in the heart of the city, beside Kettle's Yard and about a 15-minute walk from King's College.
