Critically acclaimed folk duo Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage play vintage guitars and sing harmony vocals with double bassist Jon Thorne on their one-off UK tour.
Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage play Cambridge Junction on Sunday 18 October, joined by double bassist Jon Thorne for a one-off UK tour. Sanders and Savage have been working as a duo since 2016, and this run sees them bringing in Thorne to round out the sound.
They play vintage guitars and sing harmony vocals sharing a single microphone, a setup that keeps the live show close and focused. It's a particular way of working that's earned them a fair bit of praise: Songlines gave them five stars and called the result 'arrestingly beautiful', MOJO described it as 'as heartwarming as it is beguiling', and Mark Radcliffe of BBC Radio 2's Folk Show called it 'really lovely'.
Sanders brings a voice of disarming purity, while Savage is a guitarist with a sound as distinctive as it is innovative. Together they've toured the UK, US, Canada and Asia, sharing stages with Fairport Convention, Sarah Jarosz, Martin Simpson, Ralph McTell, Seth Lakeman and Gretchen Peters. Their 2022 Topic Records album, Ink Of The Rosy Morning, reached number three in the Official UK Folk Album Charts and made MOJO's folk albums of the year; their fifth studio album, The Strangers' Share, arrived on 17 October 2025.
