Embrace play the Cambridge Corn Exchange for their UK 30th-anniversary tour, announcing their ninth album 'Avalanche'.
Embrace play the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Sunday 22 November, part of a UK headline tour marking their 30th anniversary. It's a double milestone for the band: they're celebrating three decades together while announcing their ninth album, Avalanche.
West Yorkshire's Embrace are one of the most recognisable bands to come out of the indie-rock upturn at the turn of the millennium. They're fronted by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, with Steve Firth on drums. Over the years they've put out three number-one albums, sold out arena shows, and moved over two million albums in sales. Among their top-ten hits are 'All You Good Good People' and 'Come Back To What You Know'βthe kind of songs that usually find their way into the set when a band is looking back over a long career.
The tour runs through November, and the Cambridge date is one of the stops. With Avalanche being announced alongside it, the show sits between the songs they've built their reputation on and the new material they're bringing into the fold. It's a good time to catch them if you've followed them since the early days, and a decent starting point if you're just getting into them.
