Singer-songwriter Chris Helme, former frontman of The Seahorses, plays live at Cambridge Junction.
Chris Helme plays Cambridge Junction on Monday 26 October, starting at 8:00 pm. For those who know him from the Britpop years, he was the frontman of The Seahorses, the band John Squire formed after leaving The Stone Roses. That era left behind a few well-known tracks, Love Is The Law and Blinded By The Sun among them.
Since then, Helme has worked as a solo artist. His 2012 album The Rookery earned praise for its dreamy but driven indie folk and for a blistering voice, and his songwriting is said to reflect themes relevant to contemporary society. The show is a solo one, with Helme as the main feature.
The venue is Cambridge Junction, on Clifton Way in the city. It's a prominent arts and music venue established in 1990 on the site of the city's former Cattle Market, with a capacity of 850 and a main J1 room for live music and club nights. This particular show is in J2.
