Orchestral concert by the Cambridge Chamber Sinfonia with violin soloist Flora Faulconbridge, conducted by Robert Hodge.
Cambridge Chamber Sinfonia are at West Road Concert Hall on Saturday 28 November, with Robert Hodge conducting. The programme brings together Walton, Prokofiev and Elgar, and the evening's featured soloist is violinist Flora Faulconbridge.
Faulconbridge is a Christ's College graduate who's been studying with Ani Schnarch at the Royal College of Music since 2019. It was there she made her concerto debut with Prokofiev's First Violin Concerto, and she later picked up a scholarship for postgraduate studies in Violin Performance. She's performed the Tchaikovsky Concerto with orchestras in London and at West Road Concert Hall, taken masterclasses with Vadim Gluzman, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Tasmin Little and Kurt Sassmannshaus, and played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican. She's also given recitals at the Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall and the Wigmore Hall, and led the Cambridge University Orchestra.

With the CCSO on the night, the programme runs through Walton, Prokofiev and Elgar, with Faulconbridge taking the soloist's chair. It's a full orchestral bill, so it's a good one if you're in the mood for a proper night of classical music rather than a smaller chamber set. The concert runs from 7:30 pm to 9:45 pm at West Road Concert Hall, 11 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DP.
