Autumn comedy variety night with sketch, stand-up and songs from a rotating cast of Cambridge's funniest performers, presented by the Cambridge Footlights.
The Cambridge Footlights are back at the ADC Theatre on Tuesday 27 October with the ADC Footlights Smokers, the first of their comedy variety nights for the autumn season. The Smokers are a long-standing part of the ADC's calendar, and this one kicks off a run that continues through to 27 November.
If you've never been, the format is a mix of sketch, stand-up and songs, all on the same bill. It's not a single show with a fixed cast; instead, the nights feature a rotating line-up of Cambridge's funniest performers, so who you see depends on which date you pick. The Footlights themselves are the university's famous comedy troupe, and they're the ones putting the whole thing together.
Because the cast changes from night to night, the Smokers work as a series rather than a one-off. If you're in town for a while, you can catch a few different bills across the autumn and see how the line-up shifts. The mix of sketch, stand-up and song is the same throughout, but the faces on stage will be different.
