An absurd sci-fi comedy about an ordinary man, an extremely curious alien and a conversation that gets increasingly out of hand.
Brighton Little Theatre is putting on Type 3, a new play by Thomas Dee, from 17 to 20 March 2027. It's part of their 2026-27 season, a programme that stages up to ten productions a year, so this is one of several shows they'll be running across the season.
As for what it's about, Type 3 is an absurd sci-fi comedy. The premise is simple enough: an ordinary man, an extremely curious alien, and a conversation that gets increasingly out of hand. It's the kind of setup that does its work on the dialogue — two characters from completely different worlds trying to talk to each other and watching the whole thing spiral. If you're into sci-fi that leans more towards the comedic and the absurd than the hard-edged, this is exactly that sort of thing.
