Russell T Davies in conversation with Will Young

Russell T Davies is coming to Brighton Dome on Saturday 10 October, for an evening in conversation with Will Young. The whole thing centres on Davies's new memoir, The Queerest of Folk: A Life in Television, which he's written as an oral history of a career that's been running for a long time. It covers Chucklevision, Queer as Folk, It's a Sin, Tip Toe and Doctor Who.

Davies is one of the UK's biggest names in TV drama. He's been Head Writer and Executive Producer of Doctor Who since it returned to the BBC in 2005, and he was awarded an OBE in 2008. He divides his time between Cardiff and Manchester, so this is one of the few times he'll be appearing in person around here.

He's joined on stage by Will Young, who won the first Pop Idol in 2002. His debut single, Anything Is Possible / Evergreen, sold over 1.7 million copies and became the second best-selling single of the 21st century in the UK. He's also a Sunday Times bestselling author and a leading voice on mental health and LGBTQ+ issues through his platform, The Wellbeing Lab. The talk is presented by Waterstones Brighton, and there's a post-show signing in the gallery bar afterwards.

It's in The Studio Theatre at the Dome, starting at 19:00 with doors open from 18:15. Tickets are £22 for the talk alone, or £42 if you want the ticket and the book together. Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival members save £2 on the full price.
