Annual end-of-year party with festive atmosphere and top DJs spinning an eclectic mix of tunes, with all profits going to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Jingle Ball returns to Brighton Electric on Friday 4 December, now in its fifth year. It's the organiser's annual end-of-year party, a night they describe as a warm, wild celebration where old friends reunite and new ones are made. The dance floor stays packed all night with top DJs spinning an eclectic mix of tunes, and the whole thing is pitched as a way to kick off the festive season and send the year out with a bang.
There's a charitable side to it, too. Jingle Ball is a fundraiser, and every penny of profit goes to the Disasters Emergency Committee, so the night does more than just keep you dancing. If you've been to previous editions, you'll know the format: a long night of music and a good crowd, with the DJs pulling from a wide range of styles rather than sticking to one particular sound. It's the kind of night that works as well for a group of friends as it does if you're turning up on your own and meeting people on the floor.
It's a long way from the Christmas Day rush, so it's more of a festive warm-up than a holiday party. The music runs throughout the night, and the eclectic mix means you're not locked into one genre from start to finish. Between the DJs and the charity element, it's a night that's as much about the people as it is about the records.
