A drop-in book launch for the illustrated children's book 'When my Mummy Bleeds' by Amy Dyer, with herbal tea and cake served.
Amy Dyer is launching her new illustrated children's book, When my Mummy Bleeds, at Studio Zaya on Thursday 5 November. It's a drop-in afternoon from 14:00 to 18:00, so you can pop in whenever suits you rather than committing to a set start time.
The book itself is written to support mothers and raise awareness of the natural rhythms of the menstrual cycle, and it's illustrated by Dyer. It's the kind of thing that's often a bit hard to talk about with little ones, so having a book that handles it simply and clearly can be a real help. You can buy a copy on the day, so if you're coming along, you can walk away with one.
It's not a formal presentation, which is why it's run as a drop-in session. There's no stage or scheduled talk to work around; you just turn up, have a look, and stay as long or as short as you like. There'll be herbal tea from the local company Utearo, which they describe as tea to support the menstrual cycle, served alongside cake. It's a relaxed way to mark the launch, with the tea and cake as much a part of the afternoon as the book itself.
