A curated market in central Brighton featuring over 50 independent artists, photographers, and makers offering high-quality handmade gifts.
If you are around the city centre on Saturday, 29th August, Jubilee Square will be the site for the Beau-Events Art & Makers Markets. This particular date is one of thirteen markets planned for 2026, bringing together a group of over 50 independent artists, photographers, and makers in the heart of Brighton. The event is designed around the idea of supporting local creators throughout the year, providing a space where you can find handmade items directly from the people who make them. It’s a fairly relaxed setup, running from 11:00 in the morning until 17:00, making it a simple addition to a typical Saturday walk through town.

The range of work on display is quite broad, so there is usually something for most interests. You can expect to see stalls dedicated to ceramics, jewellery, and illustrations, as well as textiles, hand-poured candles, and leather goods. There are also sections for photography and baked goods, which adds a bit of variety to the usual craft market mix. Because the organisers, Beau-Events, curate the selection of makers, the quality remains consistent across the different disciplines. It is a practical way to see a large volume of local work in one place, whether you are looking for something specific like a new print or just want to see what the city's creative community is producing.
In terms of getting around, the square is fully accessible for wheelchair users, and the event is entirely dog-friendly, so it’s easy to visit if you have your pet with you. Entry is free, which keeps things low-key if you just want to browse without any commitment. While Jubilee Square (BN1 1GE) is the main venue for this August date, the organisers do occasionally use other spots like the Brighton Unitarian Church for their events. For this specific weekend, however, everything is concentrated in the open space of the square, allowing for a bit more room to move between the stalls.
If the August date doesn't fit your schedule, there are several other opportunities to visit later in the year. The 2026 programme includes further markets on the 12th of September, 10th of October, 14th of November, and 12th of December. Each session maintains the same focus on small-scale, independent production, so there are plenty of chances to catch up with the local makers' scene as we move into the autumn and winter months.
