Children's Halloween session with a pumpkin hunt, cookie decorating, a colouring competition and a free scoop of spooky gelato with kids' meals.
All aboard the Phantom Express is a children's Halloween event at The Railway Inn on Saturday 31 October, starting at 12:00. It's billed as a 'spook-tacular daytime treat' for little monsters, so it's one of those things you can do with the kids while it's still light out, rather than a late-night party.
There's a fair bit to keep them occupied over the course of the session. The main activities are a pumpkin hunt, pumpkin and ghost cookie decorating, and a Halloween colouring competition. The cookie decorating is the kind of thing that usually takes up a good chunk of the time, and the colouring competition gives them something to work on at their own pace. The pumpkin hunt is the more active part of the mix, so there's a bit of running around to balance out the sitting and decorating.
If you're planning to eat while you're there, there's a free scoop of spooky gelato given with any kids' meal, which is a nice extra to have on the table. Between the activities and the food, it's set up as a full afternoon's entertainment rather than a quick stop-in.
