Craft workshops for children aged 3 to 10 and their parents to create spooky shadow puppets and retell stories.
Crafty Kids: Halloween Shadow Puppets is at Brighton Dome on Friday 30 October, with two sessions to choose from: one at 11.15am and another at 2.15pm. Doors open at 11am for the first and 2pm for the second, and each workshop runs for 50 minutes, so you're in and out in a reasonable window.
It's part of the Crafty Kids family of activities at the Dome, aimed at children aged 3 to 10 to do alongside a parent or carer. The sessions are led by artist and workshop leader Laura Halliwell, and they're built around children's favourite stories. The idea is to make mysterious and magical silhouettes to retell much-loved tales or to invent some brand new ones, picking up the basics of shadow puppetry as you go. It's a relaxed atmosphere, all materials are provided, and the spooky stories you create in the room are meant to be taken home and shared with family and friends.

Tickets are £10 for one adult and one child, with an extra £8 for each additional child. You can bring up to two children per adult, and everyone needs a ticket. Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival members save £2 on full-price tickets. The venue is at Church Street, Brighton, BN1 1UE.
