Plant sale and autumn fayre with discounted plants, crafts, raffle and live music supporting Plants and Minds charity.
Cherry Tree Nursery is hosting its plant sale and autumn fayre on Saturday 19 September, from 9am to 3pm. It's one of those days that works as a proper morning out: you can pick up some new plants, browse the stalls, and grab a coffee and a cake while you're at it.
The plant sale is the main draw, with top-quality plants grown on-site and sold at great-value prices. Every pound from the sale goes to the charity that runs the nursery, so it's a good time to stock up on autumn bedding or something for the greenhouse knowing it's going to a local cause. Around the plants, there's a raffle, craft and gift stalls, community stands, refreshments, homemade cakes, a barbecue and live music to keep the day going.
It's worth knowing who's behind it, too. Cherry Tree Nursery, along with its sister, Chestnut Nursery in Poole, is run by Plants & Minds, a charity that uses therapeutic horticulture to restore wellbeing in adults experiencing life-impacting mental health conditions and give them the chance to flourish. The nurseries grow the plants they sell, and the charity runs events throughout the year, including plant sales, seasonal fayres, quiz nights and afternoon teas. The money from the sale goes directly into that work.
