Tribute to Simon and Garfunkel with two voices and one guitar, recreating their harmonies in 'The Old Friends Duo tour'.
The Sounds of Simon bring their tribute to Simon and Garfunkel to the Kitchen Garden Cafe on Tuesday 17 November. They're touring under the name The Old Friends Duo tour, and the set is stripped right back: two voices and one guitar, the same way the songs were originally performed.
The setlist draws on the classics you'll know, from Mrs Robinson to Homeward Bound, but it doesn't stop there. They're also playing the rarer stuff, songs like A Most Peculiar Man and A Poem on the Underground Wall that don't usually make the cut. Between the songs, they bring in elements of the duo's famously fractious relationship, while the singing itself is focused on replicating those harmonies as closely as possible.
