Folk, blues and world music gig with singer-songwriter Boo Hewerdine and Irish folk singer Heidi Talbot at Kitchen Garden Cafe.
Heidi Talbot and Boo Hewerdine play the Kitchen Garden Cafe on Wednesday 18 November, presented by Kitchen Garden. They're touring together, and the set pulls from both their new and old songs, with a dash of humour and a good measure of storytelling woven in between.
Boo Hewerdine has been one of the UK's finest singer-songwriters for over thirty years. He was the lead singer of the seminal band The Bible, and later built his reputation through solo work and a long-time collaboration with Eddi Reader. More than a hundred of his songs have been covered by artists like k.d. lang, Kris Drever, Chris Difford and Duke Special.
Heidi Talbot is an Irish folk singer who cut her teeth as lead singer of the all-female outfit Cherish The Ladies; the Village Voice once called her 'exquisite. Björk combined with Enya'. She's shared the stage and recorded with Mark Knopfler, Graham Coxon of Blur, Eddi Reader, Idlewild, King Creosote and Jerry Douglas, has performed in front of a symphony orchestra and at the White House, and won Composer of the Year at the 2023 Scots Trad Music Awards. Her ninth studio album, Grace Untold, arrived in October 2025.
