A drop-in family activity where visitors learn to make faux stained glass using paper and acetate, running alongside Christopher Samuel's exhibition.
Christopher Samuel is running a drop-in stained glass session at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on Saturday 17 October. It's a three-hour family activity, so you can turn up whenever suits you during the session rather than committing to a fixed start time. There's no booking required, which makes it an easy one to swing by with kids or on your own if you fancy a bit of making.
The session is all about faux stained glass: you'll be working with paper and acetate to build your own pieces, so it's a way to get the look of stained glass without needing a kiln or a glass-cutter. It's open to all ages, and because it's a drop-in, you can stay for as long or as little as you like.
The workshop runs alongside Samuel's exhibition Watch Us Lead, which is also on at the gallery. He describes the show as being about the missing stories from history, so if you've got a bit of extra time, you can head over and see the work that the session sits beside.

And since you're already there, it's worth remembering what else the museum holds. It's a Grade II* listed landmark that's looked over Chamberlain and Victoria Squares since 1885, and it's home to the Pre-Raphaelites Galleries, the Staffordshire Hoard Gallery, the Birmingham History Galleries, the Round Room, the Industrial Gallery, and the new family gallery Wild City. General admission to the museum is free, so you can wander through the collections before or after the session. The gallery is at Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH.
