Private UV paint session for four at Splash House, where guests create glow-in-the-dark artwork with no artistic skill required.
Splash House is running its UV paint experience in Birmingham on Friday 23 October, and it's set up for four people. The whole thing is built around a private, glow-in-the-dark room that you get all to yourself, so you're not sharing the space with any other group. Inside, you're given non-toxic, washable UV paint and canvases to work with, and the point is that you don't need any artistic skill to get into it — it's more about the process than the final piece.
When you arrive, you're asked to turn up five to ten minutes early. They get you sorted with protective gear, your canvases, and the UV paints, and walk you through a quick safety briefing before you get started. From there, the room is yours: you can play your own music, and taking photos and videos is encouraged throughout. When your session is up, you leave the mess behind for the venue to deal with and take your artwork home with you.
It's a well-trodden one, too. Splash House bills itself as the UK's viral UV paint experience, and it's rated 4.9/5 by more than 5,000 guests. It's been featured on BBC Radio and is a Virgin Experience Days partner. The Birmingham site isn't the only one — they also run in Milton Keynes and London, with sessions available in three different lengths. There's even a team-vs-team 'Splash Battles' game if you're after something more competitive.
