A meditation course exploring practical methods for improving relationships, peace of mind and compassion, guided by Buddhist teachings.
Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham is running a meditation day called Solving People Problems on Saturday 24 October, starting at 10:00. It's a full day's session, so it's more of a commitment than a quick drop-in class.
The whole thing is built around the Buddhist idea that we can change how we relate to others by changing how we view them. It's not about just putting up with difficult behaviour, but about finding a way to respond to it that's actually helpful. The day works through guided meditations and practical methods to help you keep your head and stay peaceful, even when things get tense. If you've spent a lot of time just gritting your teeth through tricky relationships, that's exactly the kind of thing it's aimed at.
It's run by Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham, which is right in the city centre at 44 Blucher Street, B1 1QJ. They describe the centre as a welcoming place for tranquillity, relaxation, reflection and friendship, and they run a regular programme of classes, courses, workshops and retreats for all levels of experience. A lot of their usual classes are available as online livestreams for members, and they hold sessions in other locations around the city, so this is one of their in-person days.
