Community Halloween ceilidh with a live aerial performance followed by all-night ceilidh dancing led by experienced callers, with a best-dressed prize.
Skydance are bringing a Halloween ceilidh to CircusMASH on Friday 30 October, and they've thrown in a circus twist to start the night. It's a community ceilidh in the usual sense—folk dancing with a live band and a caller leading the way—but with an aerial act to open things off before the dancing takes over.
That aerial performance kicks things off at 8:00pm, and by 8:05pm the floor is open for the dancing, which carries on for the rest of the night. The ceilidh is led by friendly, experienced callers who talk you through the steps as you go, so you don't need any prior experience to join in—just a willingness to get stuck in. Costumes are welcome, and there's a prize for best dressed, so it's a good excuse to dig out something a bit more elaborate than a basic party outfit if you're feeling it.
Under-16s have to be accompanied by an adult, so it works as a family night out as much as a one for the folk crowd. The whole thing is held at CircusMASH, the All Saints Centre on Vicarage Road in Kings Heath, B14 7RA.
