Free-to-£5 twilight sketching walk through Key Hill Cemetery led by illustrator Chris Jones, a Halloween-themed meet-up for Birmingham illustrators.
Sketch & Stroll - Tombstones at Twilight comes to Key Hill Cemetery on Saturday 24 October, from 4pm to 6pm. It's a twilight wander through the historic grounds, timed to catch the light fading over the headstones, with sketchbooks, pens and pencils in hand to capture the atmosphere. The walk is led by artist Chris Jones (@cutoutcardman), who'll point out the details that make the place such an intriguing spot to explore.
The walk is part of PICNIC, an informal meet-up for illustrators in Birmingham supported by The AOI, a non-profit membership organisation open to illustrators at any stage of their career. This particular session is framed around Halloween, and the focus is on the cemetery's gravestones, gothic architecture and curious characters. You'll spend the two hours moving through the grounds, sketching as you go, with Jones guiding the way.
