The UK and Ireland tour of the classic MGM musical about Hollywood in the 1920s, with high-energy choreography and more than 14,000 litres of water on stage.
Singin' In The Rain comes to the Birmingham Hippodrome for a short run from Tuesday 11 May to Saturday 15 May 2027. It's the stage version of the classic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, set in Hollywood during the roaring 1920s. The story follows the golden couple Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, whose lives are turned upside down when 'talkies' replace silent movies and an aspiring actress is drafted in to save the day.
It's a big production, running two hours and forty minutes including the interval. The MGM score is there in full, with 'Good Morning', 'Make 'em Laugh', 'Moses Supposes' and the title track, 'Singin' in the Rain'. The choreography is high-energy and the set designs are sumptuous, and there's more than 14,000 litres of water on stage. It's a smash hit from the West End and across the world, now on a major new UK and Ireland tour. The Daily Telegraph called it 'a night of sheer delight', and the Mail on Sunday described it as 'one of the most marvellous movie musicals of all time' and 'bigger, bolder and better'. Age guidance is 8+.
Grant Almirall plays Don Lockwood, Natalie Anderson is Lina Lamont, Nicole-Lily Baisden takes on Kathy Selden, Matthew Maddison is Cosmo Brown and Wendi Peters plays Dora Bailey. The show runs on the Main Stage at the Hippodrome.
