A new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats, directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie, for two weeks at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
Cats opens at the Birmingham Hippodrome on Tuesday 27 October, running for two weeks until Saturday 7 November. It's a new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and it's only in the city for those fourteen days.
The story follows a tribe of Jellicle cats who gather under the Jellicle moon, each hoping to be chosen for a special honour. The score is the thing most people recognise, with 'Memory' having been a chart-topping hit and numbers like 'Macavity' and the 'Jellicle Ball' at its heart. This particular production comes from Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and is presented by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison.
Louise Dearman takes on the role of Grizabella, and Drew McOnie is responsible for both the direction and the choreography. The show is aimed at ages five and up, with no under-threes admitted.
