Interactive orchestral concerts by the CBSO for Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils, with classical favourites and cinematic scores and BSL interpretation.
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are back at Symphony Hall for their Schools' Concerts, running from Monday 25 to Friday 29 January 2027. It's an annual series they put on to get children into live music, designed to sit alongside what's happening in the classroom and tailored to different age groups. The programme runs from classical favourites to cinematic scores, with presenter-led moments in between to keep things moving and spark a bit of curiosity. Each concert lasts around an hour, and the whole series is BSL interpreted in fully accessible venues.
This year's concerts are presented by Georgia Hannant and Sagnick Mukherjee, with BSL interpretation by Sarah Butt. The schedule is split by age: Key Stage 2 concerts run on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 January at 1:30pm, while Key Stage 3 takes over from Wednesday 27 to Friday 29 January, with performances at 11am and 1:30pm. The series is made possible with the support of Services for Education and Deloitte.
