Three-hour in-person session of guided meditation, wellbeing tools and devotional Kirtan music inspired by Guru Nanak, open to everyone.
Meditation and Devotion is back in Birmingham on Saturday 28 November, at Barefoot in Harborne. It's a three-hour session running from 12pm to 3pm, and it's their first in-person gathering in almost a year, so it's a bit of a return for them.
The afternoon is called Journey of Compassion ('A Step Towards Yourself'), and it mixes guided meditation, practical wellbeing tools and devotional music. The music is Kirtan, the tradition of devotional singing, and the whole thing draws on the wisdom of Guru Nanak. The organisers describe it as a way of bringing more awareness, compassion and balance into everyday life.
It's open to everyone regardless of background or belief, and you don't need any prior meditation experience to join in. The session is built around three parts: the guided meditation, the interactive wellbeing tools and the Kirtan, so you'll be moving between sitting in silence, working with those practical tools, and singing. It's a three-hour stretch, and because it's an in-person gathering, you'll be there with other people rather than following along from home.
