Musical comedy Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey and starring Jennifer Ellison, Emily Lane and Vivian Panka, live at The Alexandra Theatre.
Mean Girls opens at The Alexandra Theatre on 14 December 2026, running through to 2 January 2027. It's the theatre's Christmas musical for the year, and it's a West End hit making its way to Birmingham for the holiday season.
The show is written by Tina Fey and follows the same story as the movie: Cady Heron, the new girl at North Shore High, finds herself caught up with The Plastics, the school's most popular clique. Their leader, the Queen Bee, doesn't take kindly to the competition, and the whole thing quickly spirals into the kind of high school chaos the film is known for. It's a musical comedy, so expect the same mix of sharp dialogue and pop songs that carried the original.
On stage, Jennifer Ellison is joined by Emily Lane as Cady and Vivian Panka as Regina. The show is rated 10+, so it's one that works for families as much as for anyone who grew up with the movie. It runs for two hours and thirty minutes, including an interval, so you'll be in and out in a reasonable evening.
